LAKE FOREST, CA-A memorial service was slated for Saddleback Church here this morning for Bruce Krall, a managing director with Cohen Financial, who was one of five people killed last week in a plane crash at Long Beach Airport. Services last week in Long Beach also honored Krall and the others, for whom memorial funds have been established and web sites created to honor their memories as well as convey messages to their families and friends. Krall, who was based in the Irvine office of Cohen Financial, was one of four commercial real estate leaders who were killed in the crash, including Mark Bixby of Pacific Retail Partners and developers Tom Dean and Jeff Berger. The fifth victim was the pilot, Kenneth Cruz. The lone survivor was Mike Jensen, president of Pacific Retail Partners, who remains hospitalized.

An announcement from Cohen Financial regarding the memorial for Krall remembered him as "a devoted and loving husband and father, an active and effective community leader, who was recognized by his peers and clients as a true professional in the mortgage banking community. The loss of his warm handshake, sincere smile and optimistic outlook will be felt by many." The memorial announcement also said that Krall's family has requested that any gifts in his memory "be made to either of the charities for whom he volunteered and truly felt committed to their cause and efforts."
