COSTA MESA, CA-William Flaherty of Irvine Co. Office Properties has been named president of the NAIOP SoCal 2011 executive committee, heading a list of seven committee members for this year. The group includes representatives from a diverse array of commercial real estate industry companies.
Flaherty notes that NAIOP SoCal is the second largest NAIOP chapter in the nation and has "worked to ensure that our membership has a voice on issues that matter to commercial real estate.” He adds, “We also know it’s just as important to support great business networking through events such as Night at the Fights and the USC vs UCLA Real Estate Challenge.”
In addition to Flaherty, the 2011 executive committee is composed of president-elect Steve Ames, USAA Real Estate Co.; vice president Lang Cottrell, LNR Property Corp.; treasurer Jim Proehl, PM Realty Group; secretary Tom Wulf, Lowe Enterprises Real Estate Group; programs and education liaison Michael Alvarado, Allen Matkins; and past president Greg Blomstrand, American Realty Advisors.
Each year, the board helps to implement the chapter’s mission, which is to provide a unified voice to protect and enhance the commercial real estate industry and quality of life in Southern California. This is accomplished through involvement in public policy, educational programs and other activities.
