ABU DHABI, UAE-Marriott International has signed with locally based Bloom Properties to open a hotel and apartment complex here. The project is part of the Bloom Central development, which will also include about 200,000 square feet of office.
The 315-room Abu Dhabi Marriott will include almost 20,000 square feet of conference space and a divisible ballroom. The 64-unit Marriott Executive Apartments will be furnished with full kitchen and laundry, flat-screen televisions, Internet access and in-room safes, as well a s a private residents’ lounge.
Marriott’s stake in the UAE already includes seven properties, including the JW Marriott Hotel Dubai, the Ritz-Carlton Dubai and the Ritz-Carlton Dubai Financial Center. Ed Fuller, president and managing director of international lodging for the company, said in a statement that the Middle East continues to be one of the most attractive tourism areas of the world.
