ROSSLYN, VA-Next week, Monday Properties will be announcing a new 1,500-square-foot restaurant tenant for their 1100 Wilson Blvd. office building as early as Monday morning, chief operating officer Brian Robin tells GlobeSt.com. As far as leases go, it is a small change for the company’s portfolio, but its significance lies in Monday Properties’ push to expand its retail presence in this Metro DC submarket.
The company has been renovating two of its buildings, 1501 and 1515 Wilson Blvd., with the goal of expanding the retail square footage and attracting a new type of tenant. Once occupied by office space and mom-and-pop retailers, the company has been quietly and informally marketing the space to include national brands.
The renovations include 8,000 square feet of retail to 1515 Wilson and 14,500 square feet of retail to 1501, Robin says. The difference, he says, is that “the ground floor retail is flush with the fa
