MILWAUKEE-Milwaukee Habitat for Humanity is preparing toconstruct 40 new houses in Milwaukee utilizing a $2.75-millionfederal grant. Before receiving the federal grants, theorganization constructed 22 new houses in 2009.

By utilizing the federal Neighborhood Stabilization Programgrants last year, the organization built 37 houses. In order tocarry out the project, Milwaukee Habitat is buying vacant housingplots for $1 from the city.
