ALAMEDA, CA-A joint venture of El Segundo, CA-based PCCP and locally based SRM Associates and Scott Newman, called Alameda Waterfront Development Investors I, has broken ground on a 160,000-square-foot build-to-suit office project for VF Outdoor Inc. The new development will serve as the global headquarters for VF Outdoor and its brands including The North Face, JanSport and lucy. It is scheduled for completion in the summer of 2012 and is intended for LEED Gold certification.
Executive directors Phil Lombardo and John McManus of the Oakland office of Cushman and Wakefield represented VF Outdoor in the lease of the facility, which they noted was the culmination of a four-year planning and site selection effort. The project is being developed as a build-to-suit to own, with VF planning to buy it after it is completed and lease it until then. Terms of the lease and the future acquisition were not disclosed.
The VF headquarters will feature four two-story office buildings at 2601, 2701, 2801 and 2901 Harbor Bay Parkway the 268-acre Harbor Bay Business Park project.
