
NEW YORK CITY-The Metropolitan Museum of Art has signed an eight-year lease for the Upper East Side building of Whitney Museum of American Art. It will lease the Whitney's Breuer building when the Whitney opens a new downtown building in 2015.
The Whitney has received approval for a $680-million, six-story building spanning 195,000 square feet in the Meatpacking District. The Met will use the Whitney's home for exhibitions as well as educational programs.For the full story, go to Wall Street Journal.
