Whittwood Town Center

WHITTIER, CA-Cole Real Estate Investments of Phoenix, which bought the Whittwood Town Center for $83.5 million last fall, has named a Grubb & Ellis team as leasing agents for the property. The team members are SVPs Dan Samulski and Walter Pagel, along with associates John Scruggs and Tom Carpenter.

Whittwood Town Center is situated on roughly 65 acres at the southeast corner of Whittier Boulevard and Whittwood Drive, at 15608 Whittwood Lane. The center is approximately 97% leased, with national tenants including JCPenney, Target, Vons, Kohl’s, PetSmart; 24 Hour Fitness and Panera Bread Co. It serves as the primary retail center for residents in the communities of La Habra, La Mirada, Norwalk, West Covina, Cerritos and Buena Park.

The property was originally constructed in the 1950s but was redeveloped in recent years. It currently has space available ranging in size from 532 square feet to 18,300 square feet.

Samulski describes the center as ideal for retailers looking to open or relocate a store to an area with high traffic counts and a large surrounding population. He noted that the redevelopment of the property converted it into an outdoor destination with numerous entertainment, shopping and dining options that are connected by green walkways and common plazas.
