MARINA DEL REY, CA-Equinox Fitness Club has signed a lease for 30,000 square feet of space at the 419,000-square-foot Villa Marina Marketplace, adding an anchor to the $25 million redevelopment of the property, according to Jones Lang LaSalle, which is handling the leasing for the project. The property is described as an entertainment/lifestyle-destination retail center, at 13450 and 13455 Maxella Ave.
JLL senior vice president William Huelsman says that the addition of Equinox, scheduled for the late spring of 2012, is one of many planned changes at the center. "An upscale Equinox Fitness Club will serve our high-income consumers in the Marina del Rey trade area,” Huelsman said. Huelsman said other planned additions to the project will be white-tablecloth and fast casual food along with a complement of high-end retailers.
