HARTFORD, CT-Construction work will start on Storrs Center, a $220-million residential and commercial development near the University of Connecticut, on Wednesday. Memphis, Tennessee-based Education Realty Trust Inc. will own and manage nearly 290 single-, double- and triple-bedroom apartments and studio in the first two phases.

New York-based LeylandAlliance LLC will own and control the commercial space measuring 70,000 square feet in the first two phases. The development will be completed in 2012 and 2013. For the full story, go to Hartford Courant .
