
NEW YORK CITY-Home prices delayed their progress of decline in April. According to the Case-Shiller 20-City index of Standard & Poor's, home prices rose 0.7% in April compared to March.
Nationally, prices moved down to 4% from year-ago levels compared to a 3.8% year-over-year lessening in March. Home prices dropped 2.9% in Detroit and five other cities, namely Las Vegas, Chicago, Miami, Tampa, and Charlotte, also registered new low levels in April.
