NEW YORK CITY-Anvil Knitwear is relocating its corporate headquarters to 21,000 square feet at 521 Fifth Ave., in a long-term lease co-brokered by Colliers International and CB Richard Ellis.
Anvil is currently located at 228 E. 45th St., a location the company liked due to its proximity to transportation options at Grand Central, says James Emden, a vice chairman in the New York office of Colliers International who worked the deal. However, it wanted to upgrade the quality of its space, he tells GlobeSt.com.
“They made the change because they wanted an upgrade in the quality of the building,” Emden says. “They wanted to stay in Grand Central and they took the space because it’s already built.” At 228 E. 45th St., the company occupied 15,000 square feet.
The CBRE brokers involved in the deal on behalf of the tenant were Michael Liss and Ross Zimbalist and the owner, SL Green, was represented in-house.
