NEW YORK CITY-The architecture firm Arte New York has renewed its lease and doubled the space it occupies at 265 W. 37th St. in a deal brokered by Colliers International.
Arte New York principal Fara Marz is also the founder of Om Factory, a yoga and event center that operates out of the space. Marz tells GlobeSt.com that the expansion—from 15,000 to 30,000 square feet—was due in large part to a need for more yoga and event space and the needs of a subtenant.
“We’re staying the same, but we have someone who shares the space,” Marz says of that tenant, a tech firm. “We are moving to the 12th floor. The tech firm is growing and we are giving our space to them.”
Om Factory, which Marz says takes its name from the factories located in the building, offers yoga classes like vinyasa, antigravity and acroyoga—a type of acrobatic yoga.
“We are the only yoga studio in New York that has acrobatic yoga,” Marz adds.
The architecture and yoga space will move to the 12th floor of the building, ceding space to the tech firm subtenant a few floors below. Marty Meyer, a vice chairman at Colliers International, represented both Arte New York and 265 West 37th LLC, the building’s owner.
