LOS ANGELES-Colliers International has added a new retail team headed by Mark Baziak, who becomes Colliers’ director of retail leasing for Greater Los Angeles, with his team working out of Downtown L.A. and Orange County. In addition to Baziak, the team members include Terrison Quinn, Peter Spragg, Mark Joens, Casey Mahony and Jesika Tran-Nguyen. All were with Grubb & Ellis except for Mahony, who was with Daum Commercial Real Estate Services.
Baziak will focus on strategic asset positioning, deal negotiations, and client relationships, according to a Colliers announcement regarding the new team. Before joining Colliers, he was a senior vice president and a member of the President’s Council for Grubb & Ellis’ Orange County office and had been with the firm since 1994. In 2010, Baziak was named the No. 1 retail broker in the nation for Grubb & Ellis, and for the past decade has been ranked one of the company’s top retail brokers nationally. Most recently, he was a managing member of the firms retail executive committee.
Quinn, who joins Colliers as an associate vice president, focuses on landlord representation, development and disposition, primarily in Orange, Los Angeles, and Riverside counties. Previously, he served as senior associate in Grubb & Ellis' Orange County office, where in 2010 he was involved in more than $66 Million in deal consideration, was a top 10 retail producer nationally, No. 2 retail producer in Orange County, and named regional rookie of the year in 2009.
Spragg, who joins Colliers as a senior associate, previously was a senior associate based in Grubb & Ellis’ Los Angeles office. Joens, who is now an associate at Colliers, previously worked as an associate at Grubb & Ellis' Orange County office. Mahony, also an associate at Colliers, was an associate at Daum since 2010 before joining Colliers. Tran-Nguyen, the team’s senior marketing specialist, was a marketing coordinator at Grubb & Ellis.
Martin Pupil, regional managing director for Colliers International’s Greater Los Angeles operations, calls the new team “a strong addition to our retail practice in Greater Los Angeles” and part of the company’s continuing effort to add to its capabilities both regionally and nationally. Grubb & Ellis, as a matter of policy, does not comment on the departure of employees from the company.
