BIRMINGHAM, AL-The Hyatt Place hotel located on 20th Street in Birmingham has been sold and will soon be rebranded. Birmingham HP HH LLC, a company established by Capmark Financial Group Inc., has purchased the hotel from 20th Street Hotel LLC for $19.2 million. The six-floor hotel has 150 rooms.
Capmark intends to rename the property as a SpringHill Suites by Marriott. The $14 million hotel will undergo minor modifications and will get a new general manager. For the full story, go to Birmingham Business Journal .
