WASHINGTON, DC-Brendan Cassidy, former senior vice president with Cassidy Turley, has joined West, Lane & Schlager. Among other duties, Cassidy has been tasked with building out the company’s business in suburban Maryland. It won’t be easy, he tells GlobeSt.com.

“The I-270 corridor in particular was negatively and dramatically impacted by the events of 9-11,” he says. “For all intents and purposes, it has not experienced significant growth since then.” In addition, he says, the region is struggling with the current fiscal situation of the federal government. “I am not anticipating a lot of positive pressure for the government to invest in the life sciences any time soon.”

Cassidy is a 27-year industry veteran, including spending a substantial number of years with Cassidy & Pinkard, which later became Cassidy Turley. Over the course of his fourteen years with that firm, he spearheaded the opening of the company’s suburban Maryland office. He has represented both landlords and tenants over the course of his career, but now will focus on tenants with West, Lane & Schlager.

In separate but related news, Edward Gregorowicz has joined Avison Young’s brokerage operations in the DC area. He joins the company as a principal and will focus his efforts on federal government leasing activities. He will also guide the company’s expansion of services in the National Capital Region and other US and Canadian markets.
