NEW YORK CITY-One of the signature events for the industry locally, the annual Fried Frank Real Estate Holiday Party found attendees in an ebullient frame of mind, recent global economic turbulence notwithstanding. Approximately 1,500 attendees were expected for Tuesday night’s gathering, held at Cipriani 42nd Street and sponsored by law firm Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson LLP, with real estate department chairman Jonathan L. Mechanic the ever-present host.

Three years ago, following the capital markets meltdown a couple of months earlier, the climate of uncertainty dampened the festive mood somewhat at the 2008 edition of the Fried Frank event. The hall began emptying out sooner than usual. This year, the cavernous event space remained well filled as the scheduled 9 p.m. conclusion of the party drew near.

As it does every year, the event drew a veritable Who’s Who of New York commercial real estate luminaries. GlobeSt.com was there--as it is every year--rubbing elbows with industry titans and snapping photos of a few of them.
