FALLS CHURCH, VA-The Commonwealth of Virginia has lured another firm away from its headquarters base. Acentia, a tech provider whose client base is the federal government and commercial markets, has opted to move here, from nearby Montgomery County, MD.
The firm is moving to 3130 Fairview Park Dr. , where nearly 200 employees will occupy two floors of the 46,000 square-foot office building.

The company is investing $3.1 million in the move, creating 60 new jobs for Fairfax County. The Fairview Park business campus also houses other contractors to the government, including CSC, General Dynamics and Northrop Grumman.
"We are honored to have another high-quality employer moving into Fairfax County,” says Gerald L. Gordon, president and CEO of the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority.

Gordon is referring to the number of high-profile headquarter moves to the county in recent years. These have included ATK, which is moving its corporate headquarters to Arlington, VA from Minnesota, Science Applications International Corp., which moved its headquarters to Fairfax County from San Diego, Hilton moved from Beverly Hills to Tysons Corner and Volkswagen of America transitioned its Auburn Hills, MI-based US headquarters operations to Herndon.

Fairfax’s Economic Development Agency worked with the Virginia Economic Development Partnership to secure the project for Virginia. The Virginia Department of Business Assistance is providing funding and services for the company’s recruitment and training activities.
