ORLANDO—In a move to reinforce its Land Services Group globally, CBRE has wooed industry veteran David Pace to its team. Pace is on board as executive vice president of the group, focusing on consulting and transactional services involving large, complex, mixed-use and often stressed development projects.
“We see an improvement in overall market conditions,” Bill Moss, senior managing director of CBRE’s Orlando office, tells GlobeSt.com. “We see lenders and others who are in control of difficult land parcels coming to the mindset that this is the time to start moving toward understanding what they have and to a potential sale of those assets.”
Before joining CBRE, Pace was managing director for Pritzker Realty Group's redevelopment of the 1,100-acre former Orlando Naval Training Center property. He assembled and led the team that created over $2 billion in value in Baldwin Park. At CBRE, Pace will cover local, national and global opportunities.
“I plan to reach out to a group of friends around the world—planners and architects that are deeply entrenched in the best projects out there,” Park tells GlobeSt.com. “We’re going to identify the best mixed-use projects in the best markets around the world and find the decision makers and start having conversations about the value we can add.”
Before his role at Pritzker, Pace served for seven years as director of Real Estate Development for Disney. He was responsible for the real estate aspects of $5-plus billion worth of projects, including Celebration and Little Lake Bryan in Orlando, Val D'Europe outside Paris and the Latin America corporate headquarter consolidation of 13 countries.
Pace recently completed his term as chair of the Orlando Economic Development Commission and continues in his role as an officer, as well as serving on the executive committee. He is a graduate of Emory University and is a frequent speaker and guest lecturer on profitable New Urbanism, environmental remediation initiatives, and global economic development and real estate development trends.
In other CBRE news, Deanna Lobinsky and Travis Herring of CBRE in the Fort Lauderdale office have earned the titles of senior vice president and first vice president, respectively. Lobinsky and Herring have worked together as a team for more than 10 years. They serve South Florida’s office property owners and landlords as advisors.
Most recently, the team was appointed by Ivy Realty to rebrand and market 1 East Broward, a class A high-rise in Downtown Fort Lauderdale with more than 338,000 rentable square feet. The building is first in its class with its 'main and main' location, premium tenant roster and amenity-rich offerings.
“Deanna and Travis are two of the most highly regarded professionals in the market. Year after year, they demonstrate solid performance,” CBRE managing director Ken Krasnow said in a prepared statement. “As both individuals and as a team, they are well respected by our clients for going above and beyond and continuing to deliver superior service excellence.”
