CHICAGO-Tinley Park Corporate Center just got a big tenant. M Block & Sons Inc. just signed on to take 915,643 square feet, with occupancy beginning on June 15, 2012.

As GlobeSt.com exclusively reported in 2007, First Industrial Realty Trust Inc., headquartered in Chicago, purchased the 92.8 acres on Prosperi Drive near Interstate 80 and Oak Park Avenue and developed it into the Tinley Park Corporate Center. The larger of the two buildings—the one to be occupied by M Block & Sons—includes a cross-dock facility and divisible to about 228,000 square feet, said Martin Edmondson, development manager for First Industrial and team leader for the project at the time.

CBRE’s Larry Johnson, senior vice president, and Kip Hennelly, vice president, represented the owner while Jeff Locascio of Newmark Knight Frank Epic represented the tenant, in the transaction. CBRE tells GlobeSt.com that it cannot disclose any further terms at this time including asking rent, taking rent, aggregate lease value, or why M Block & Sons was drawn to the location.

However, the building, located at 18801 Oak Park Ave. in Tinley Park, IL, is in what local brokers call a “thriving, stable community.” Tinley Park Corporate Center provides up to 1.2 million square feet of corporate, industrial and distribution spaces in a highly visible and desirable location. The building is located adjacent to the I-80 distribution corridor and is strategically located close to I-57, I-55, I-294, I-94, I-90 and I-355 and provides excellent interstate visibility and vehicle access for M Block & Sons.

The company’s current corporate headquarters are at in Bedford Park, IL.
