WASHINGTON, DC- Commercial real estate executives in the Washington area will gather on June 1st for the 11th annual RealShare Washington, DC networking conference, being held at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel, to discuss three top issues facing the market: what is driving development; what is driving--or not--office leases; and what is driving investment sales.

“These are topics important to the C-level crowd in DC’s commercial real estate community,” conference producer Kim Last tells GlobeSt.com. “So we are providing an in-depth discussion on all three subjects.” On-site registration for the half-day event will begin at 7:30 am with opening remarks starting at 8:15 am.

The first panel, “Next Chapter of Development: The WHY Behind the Latest Projects in Multifamily, Office & Retail,” will be moderated by Dick Knapp, senior vice president of Foulger-Pratt. Panelists will be Doug Firstenberg, principal of Stonebridge Carras; Robin McBride, vice president and Mid-Atlantic region COO of Federal Realty Investment Trust; Bob Murphy, managing principal of MRP Realty; Chris Spitz, president of DRI Development Associates; and Victor Tolkan, managing partner and founder of Penzance.

Sally Wilson, senior vice president of CBRE, will moderate the second panel, which will focus on the changing trends in office space—especially as the federal government retrenches. Panelists will include Dave Bevirt, regional vice president of leasing for Brookfield; Dan Dooley, managing director and director of leasing for Tishman Speyer; Derrick Mashore, managing director with Jones Lang LaSalle; Bruce McNair, principal with Avison Young; and Brendan Owen, chief leasing officer with Vornado/Charles E. Smith.

The outlook on investment sales panel discussion will be moderated by Nelson Migdal, a shareholder at Greenberg Traurig. Panelists will be Sandor Biderman, SVP at Walker & Dunlop; EagleBank EVP and chief commercial real estate lender Tony Marquez; Josh Olsen, vice president of acquisition at Monument Realty; Bill Prutting, SVP at CBRE; and Kevin Smith, director of Mortgage Banking at Centerline Capital Group.
