ELLICOTT CITY, MD-Rochester, New York-based Home Properties Inc. has paid $186 million for an apartment complex in Ellicott City. The Howard Crossing community, which comprises 1,350 units, is situated along Town and Country Boulevard.

The property was 92.6% occupied at closing. It contains two pools, a fitness center, business center, tennis courts and basketball courts, as well as two commercial buildings totaling 14,400 square feet.
