MINNEAPOLIS-Annapolis-based Chesapeake Lodging Trust has bought Hotel Minneapolis, a 222-room downtown property, for $46 million from Norwalk, Connecticut-based HEI Hotels and Resorts. The REIT paid approximately $207,000 per room for the 10-story hotel.
HEI purchased the hotel in 2010. Hempel Properties and Morrissey Hospitality Cos. Inc. retained minority interests. Hotel Minneapolis is section of the Marriott Autograph Collection. Chesapeake Loding bought Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Spa and Marina, a 429-room hotel, for $62 million in September. For the full story, go to Baltimore Business Journal .
