TYSONS CORNER, VA-Ever since news was released that Intelsat was moving its headquarters to Tysons Corner from the District, the submarket—and building—has been fielding numerous inquiries from other companies, says Tim Steffan, SVP of Macerich.

Earlier this month, Intelsat, one of the world's top providers of satellite services, announced it would be moving to Tysons Tower, a building being developed by Macerich and the Alaska Permanent Fund Corp. Intelsat is taking 188,000 square feet, or 37% of the building, with an option to expand to 50%.

"The announcement about Intelsat has created additional interest from other entities," Steffan says—from companies inside and outside the region.
