SAN JOSE, CA-Earlier today, GlobeSt.com reported that Gucci, which recently marked a decade at Santana Row, will undergo a complete interior remodel along with façade enhancement beginning in the summer 2013. In addition, we reported that Tommy Bahama is also undergoing a renovation at the retail complex next year.
Jan Sweetnam, VP of the Western Region and COO of Federal Realty Investment Trust, Santana Row's parent company, tells GlobeSt.com that those renovations mentioned above are just a few of the many things the center has in the works.
Sweetnam notes that next year, construction will continue on Misora, a new 212-unit rental living community opening in October, “to keep up with the increasing demand for residential offerings at Santana Row.” In February, construction began on the resort-style residential rental community. It will be located behind Diesel and Pasta Pomodoro, and will bring the total number of residences at Santana Row to 834; 615 of which are rentals. The new project also includes a 370 stall resident parking garage.
Sweetnam also pointed out that the retail line-up will also continue to evolve next year with the addition of Madewell, an expanded Tesla and Splendid.
“With the new restaurant and retail concepts that were introduced in 2012, we have created a great momentum of unique and well received offerings on property that will continue to build into 2013,” Sweetnam tells GlobeSt.com. “This sustained positive momentum is a direct result of merchandising changes we have made and the strength of the Silicon Valley economy. Santana Row is constantly evolving to stay relevant to our customer. Staying on the cutting edge of retail and restaurant concepts is an important part of how we serve our community.”
Other retail properties in the area are also expanding their tenant line-up. As GlobeSt.com recently reported, just across the street from Santana Row, Westfield's Valley Fair Mall just added 7 For All Mankind to its tenant mix.
