Steven H. Tick, Principal at Podolsky Northstar CORFAC International, represented Menards in the deal, the terms of which were not released.
The property, located on W. North Ave. between Hawthorne and Cornell Aves., was previously owned by three separate private entities.
Menards will demolish the current industrial and office buildings on the site, located on W. North Ave. between Hawthorne and Cornell Aves. It will use the land to build a 263,701-square-foot retail store and a 47,652-square-foot warehouse.
“This new Melrose Park location will help Menards better serve their customer base,” Tick says.
This is the third transaction Tick has completed for Menards in the last 12 years. He previously represented the company in the purchase of 26 acres in Chicago.
Menards, a family-owned company started in 1960, is headquartered in Eau Claire, WI. It owns 270 home improvement stores in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, Wisconsin and Wyoming.
