PHOENIX-McClain Foods Services has acquired 29 acres along the Interstate 10 corridor, with plans to build a 200,000-square-foot freezer-cooler building on the site. The buyer paid $7 million to EJM Development Co. of Los Angeles for the property.

The acreage is at the southwest corner of 75th Ave. and Interstate 10. According to a press release issued by Lee & Associates, which helped broker the transaction, McClain will launch construction on its facility this year.

Lee & Associates' Stein Koss teamed with Mike Quint of Jackson & Cooksey in Dallas, TX to represent the the buyer. Rick Robertson and Allen Lowe, also with Lee & Associates, represented the seller.

“This facility will serve McClain's restaurant clients in Arizona, Eastern California and as far east as El Paso, TX. We looked at several markets and felt Arizona, and more specifically this site, would serve their needs best,” Koss comments in the press release.
