LONDON-Mo Barzegar is now heading the European industrial operations for New York City-based Blackstone. He comes to the new post, as president and CEO, from AMB, where he was managing director for European operations. Barzegar will be based in London.
In fact, while at AMB, Barzegar headed a team responsible for acquiring and developing 15 million square feet across 12 markets. The value of the assets was set at $1.8 billion.
LogiCor, which Blackstone created in 2012 to manage its portfolio of European industrial assets, owns 26 million square feet of industrial assets in the UK, France and Poland. (By comparison, the private equity firm's US-based counterpart, IndCor, manages 83 million square feet in 23 states.)
“We're delighted to have someone of Mo's talent and experience head LogiCor,” says Ken Caplan, head of real estate for Blackstone in Europe. “Under Mo's leadership we expect that we will continue to grow and develop our European logistics platform.”
