DALLAS-Medical City Dallas Hospital, and Medical City Children's Hospital are planning a $114 million expansion.

The plan includes constructing four new floors in the E Tower, as well as expanding another floor in the same building, the Dallas Business Journal reported today.

Extensive renovations in other buildings will expand the oncology and stem cell treatment units and renovate operating rooms. The project is triggered by increasing demand for critical care, oncology, transplant, surgical and emergency services, a spokesperson told the Journal

The expansion includes the addition of more than 100 beds, and the renovation of various areas. Some highlights include:

• Renovation of 37 private oncology rooms

• Creation of 18 new private stem cell patient rooms
