OKLAHOMA CITY-An article on the Daily Oklahoman's website reports that economist Russell Evans could be in what he calls the "nascent years" of an economic transformation supported by widespread growth. The economist, who is the executive director of the Steven C. Agee Economic Research and Policy Institute at Oklahoma City University,  recently made his presentation to OKC's city council.

According to the article, the presentation was made to council members to help them set spending priorities and took into account growth in sales taxes. Evans' forecasts ranged from an increase of 2.6% to 7.1% (on the higher end) for the FY 2014 budget, which goes into effect beginning July 1, 2013. The baseline stood at 4.4%.
