MIAMI—Design Within Reach and Boffi are the newest retail tenants to take down space in Miami's Design District. The high-end home furnishing companies inked deals at NE 2nd Avenue at 41st Street and 38th Street, respectively.

The Miami Design District is a neighborhood dedicated to fashion, design, architecture, and dining experiences. The new leases bookend the growing luxury fashion base in the District.

"The original tenants to the area, home furnishings, are benefiting from the reorientation of the Design District to accommodate co-tenancy with luxury fashion retailers and restaurants," says Michael Comras, president of Comras Company, which represented both tenants. "The timing is ideal for these transitions as the home furnishing market is thriving due to an uptick in Miami's overall market and growth in terms of residential development.”

Design Within Reach, which retails authentic modern design for furniture and accessories, signed a new lease for 10,000 square feet at 4100 NE 2nd Avenue. Comras says this transaction represents a trend of consolidation within upscale home furnishing brands, doubling its footprint in Miami while consolidating locations. Boffi, a leader product innovation, communication strategy and instore concept in kitchens and bathrooms, signed a new lease for 3,800 square feet plus a mezzanine at 3800 NE 2nd Avenue.
