FORT WORTH, TX—A fourth Dallas-area physician-owned hospital operated by Forest Park Medical Center is being planned for an 8-acre site along the Trinity River in the Edwards Ranch development.

The $140 million, 150,000-square-foot facility is expected to open in mid-2014, according to a report in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

The Dallas-based company began building surgical hospitals in 2009. It has locations in Dallas and Frisco and will open one in June in Southlake.

Dr. J. Robert Wyatt, an ear, nose and throat surgeon, and one of four founders of Forest Park Medical Center, said its developer, Neal Richards Group, looked at a number of Fort Worth locations before selecting this site.

"It's a great location with great access," said Wyatt, managing director of operations for Forest Park. "We didn't see anything else that we were as excited about."

The project is being financed with $30 million in private equity, with the remainder from a consortium of banks led by Texas Capital Bank, Wyatt said.

Forest Park Medical Center will open a hospital in San Antonio about the same time it opens its Fort Worth location.
