ST. LOUIS, MO-The legal battle between THF Realty co-founders Michael Staenberg and Stan Kroenke has taken a nasty turn.

Last week, Staenberg filed papers in St. Louis County Court against Kroenke seeking at least $6.8 million in damages, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. In the original lawsuit filed in December, Kroenke charged that Staenberg reneged on $20.2 million he owed as part of the unwinding of their complex web of real estate holdings that had been under way for about a year. Kroenke also accused Staenberg of blocking his access to computer records at THF Realty, one of two umbrella companies the pair jointly owned.

The 223-page document filed by Staenberg chronicles the disputes between the executives, who together built THF Realty into one of the nation's largest shopping-plaza developers. See story in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
