SAN FRANCISCO-Australian women's activewear retailer Lorna Jane USA Inc. has signed a lease and opened its 11th store in the US here. The location will be the first Lorna Jane store in this city and the largest in the brand's US portfolio.

Located at 2090 Union St. in the affluent Cow Hollow section, the 3,000-square-foot retail space sits on the northeast corner of Webster St. Surrounding-area retailers include Sephora, Nine West, American Apparel, Equinox Fitness and Soul Cycle (the latter two of which are under construction).

“With the success of the Southern California stores, the Bay Area is a natural progression for the brand,” said Scott Lifschultz in a prepared statement. Lifschultz is the founder and president of SPL Realty Partners, which represents Lorna Jane exclusively in its real estate expansion throughout the US and represented Lorna Jane in this transaction. “There are several other locations currently under consideration throughout Northern California and other major markets throughout the US. We are excited to have secured this high-profile corner location, where sales have been above expectations.”

Lorna Jane Clarkson, founder and chief creative officer of the brand, added in the statement, “I love the Bay Area and look forward to growing the Northern California business from Union St.”

As GlobeSt.com reported exclusively in September 2012, Lorna Jane expanded its presence in the US with 11 new leases throughout the Southern California region. At that time, the tenant took prominent retail sites in Santa Monica, Woodland Hills, Glendale, Irvine and Huntington Beach, as well as a warehouse for the support of these sites and online fulfillment in Santa Monica.
