PFLUGERVILLE, TX—Scott & White Healthcare Clinic is relocating to a larger facility here to better serve patients.

A company representative spoke with the Austin American-Statesman about the move.

“We've been planning this project just over maybe a year, year and a half,” Colleen Sundquist, vice president of clinic operations told the paper. “We were in about a 3,000-square-foot clinic just down the road from that [new] location and we're moving to 11,500 square feet, so we're almost quadrupling.”

The decision was largely based on demand for physician services from Pflugerville residents, she said.

“Certainly because of the growth in Pflugerville in general there is a demand for more primary care services,” Sundquist said. “That's what we're trying to bring.”

The new location, at 1701 Pflugerville Parkway, was scheduled to open today with three full-time physicians, but in the future there will be six doctors available. Two of the initial set of doctors will be primary care physicians, and the third position will be filled by specialists who will alternate throughout the week, Sundquist said.

Patient demand also spurred the decision for Scott & White Healthcare to recently open a 24-hour  emergency hospital in Cedar Park.
