HOUSTON—Transwestern's Houston office has been awarded the leasing assignment for Katy Medical Plaza, a 150,000-square-foot, three-building medical office campus under construction in Katy, Texas. Construction on the first building is under way and is on schedule for a July 2013 delivery. The property has been certified LEED Gold by the U.S. Green Building Council. Tim Gregory, senior vice president at Transwestern, will represent the developer, Jacob White Development, and will handle the leasing and marketing for the property.
The development is located at the corner of Kingsland Boulevard and Cobia Drive with easy access to both the Grand Parkway and Katy Freeway. The site for the medical complex was selected based on its proximity to five major hospital systems, as well as its position within one of the highest suburban growth areas in the country.
“Upon completion, Katy Medical Plaza will offer a truly unique experience for its tenants and patients,” said Gregory. “These buildings will be the first of their kind in Katy with a sustainable roof and several additional new technologies, which will have a significant impact on the health and well-being of their users.”
Transwestern is a privately held real estate firm specializing in agency leasing, property and facilities management, tenant advisory, capital markets, development, research and sustainability.
