SAN MATEO, CA—CaliforniaReal estate veteran John McKernan has joined Sares Regis Group of Northern California's (SRGNC) Commercial Development division as vice president.  McKernan has seven years experience as a lead systems engineer with Pacific Gas and Electric.  Prior to joining SRGNC he worked with WebCor Builders Inc. as a senior project manager, and then as a project executive.  He holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Marquette University in Milwaukee, and is also a registered Professional Mechanical Engineer and General Contractor in California.

“We're excited that John McKernan has joined our team to manage several of our major projects,” said Jeff Birdwell, President of Commercial Division.  “John has been working with us as a consultant since April 2012 on the San Mateo County Jail and other large scale development projects.  He brings a considerable breadth of knowledge to Sares Regis Group.”

SRGNC has also promoted three employees.  David Hopkins was promoted to SVP of commercial development.  He has been with SRGNC since 2007 as VP of commercial development.  Hopkins has overseen the entitlement, design, and construction process on several large-scale commercial development  projects including the $300M Taube Koret Campus for Jewish Life, a 1,000,000 SF office entitlement at 700 E. Middlefield Road, a land assemblage and development of the San Mateo County Jail.  He holds a BA in Mathematics from Emory University, a BS in Civil Engineering from Georgia Tech, as well as an MBA from Berkeley with an emphasis in Real Estate Development and Finance.

Yayu Lin has been promoted to VP of the Commercial and Residential Development divisions.  She has been a Project Manager with SRGNC since 2005, and has assisted in the completion of over 340 units of new residential housing on the Peninsula, as well as working on complex redevelopment projects for Stanford University.  Currently Yayu is working on the new Google Bayview Campus and other master-planned developments.

Deborah Childress has been promoted to marketing manager for Regis Homes  Bay Area.  Since graduating from the University of Iowa in 1997, Childress has worked as Director of Marketing at O'Brien Homes, Brookfield Homes and Shea Homes.  She has been at Regis Homes Bay Area since 2011 working as marketing coordinator for the new multifamily projects, including The Plaza in Foster City.
