WAYNE, NJ-Once considered one of the fastest growing electronics retailers in the region, Electronics Expo filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection last night.
Electronics Expo currently operates two stores, in Wayne and Union, and a clearance center housed at the company's headquarters in Wayne, according to The Record. At its peak, Electronics Expo had eight stores, but closed a majority of the locations last year.
Electronics Expo was founded by Leon Temiz, one of three brothers who launched the now defunct Sixth Avenue Electronics. Leon Temiz split with his brothers over management of Sixth Avenue, and created Electronics Expo in 2002. Sixth Avenue Electronics closed all of its stores in 2011 and liquidated its assets in lieu of filing for bankruptcy. See story in The Record.
