IRVING, TX—Local developers Myers & Crow Co. Ltd. have purchased a 12.5-acre plot of land near LBJ Freeway in Irving with plans to develop an office complex.

The Dallas Business Journal spoke with the Dallas-based firm's Richard Crow, who expressed confidence that the location will aid the speculative project.

The three-story, 153,515-square-foot office building will be named Freeport 9, which is Myers & Crow's ninth building to develop off Freeport Parkway.

“It's been a strong market for our product type and I expect to continue to build in the market,” Crow said.

Freeport 9 is scheduled to begin in early June, with delivery of the building expected in March 2014. By starting construction, Crow told the Journal he expects to see tenants seriously consider Freeport 9 as they shop for office space.
