BIRMINGHAM, AL-The Birmingham News reports that local developer Corporate Realty is readying to build a 237-unit apartment complex to be dubbed Parkside Apartments. The $21 million project will be adjacent to Railroad Park, a 19-acre green space near downtown.
According to the article, the Birmingham Design Review Committee has given preliminary approval to the project, which will be located on the 1700 block of First Avenue South, close to the Birmingham Barons' new ballpark.
David Austin, with Giattina Aycock Architecture Studio Inc., the architect of record, said ground could be broken on the project in as little as 10 weeks. For more information about the project, click here.
