FORT LAUDERDALE-Three Fort Lauderdale hotel properties facing foreclosure have been sold to Swedish investor Par Sanda for nearly $5 million.
The Sanda affiliate—Sanda's Kathy is Great LLC—purchased the three properties that were slated for foreclosure action for $4.9 million, according to the South Florida Business Journal. Sanda now owns The Martindale, which features 18 Art Deco rooms at 3016 Bayshore Drive; The Seaside Motel, which has 22 units at 350 N. Birch Road; and The Sandy Shores Motel at 3008 Bayshore Drive.
Iberiabank filed a foreclosure in 2011 against Sable Resorts and managing member Lawrence A. Duprey over $5.6 million in mortgages on the three hotels Sanda just purchased, as well as fourth property that Sable retains ownership—the Front Hotel and Apartments at 2908 Bayshore Drive.
