CHICAGO- NelsonHill just announced that the firm has completed a 72,000-square-foot industrial lease for Berkshire Refrigerated Warehousing, LLC in a 210,334 square foot industrial building within the Calumet Business Center at 1550 E. 98th Street in Chicago.

Frank Melchert, the senior vice president of NelsonHill, along with Douglas Hayes, the managing director, represented the tenant in the transaction. Chris Gary of NAI Hiffman worked on behalf of the building owner, Ashley Capital.

Berkshire will expand and relocate the dry portion of their Chicago operations at 1155 W. 40th Street to the new building. The company was established in 1984 and offers freezer and cooler storage for climate and temperature-controlled freight. Their new location sits within the 12-building, 2.1 million-square-foot Calumet Business Center, which was first built in the 1950's, and offers rail service via Norfolk/Southern Railways and close proximity to I-94 and I-57. MWD Logistics, the Chicago Tribune, Del Monte, MeadWestvaco and Cargil also rent space in the complex.
