CHARLOTTE, NC-An affiliate of Exter Property Group has acquired the 8740 Research Drive office building in Universal City from an affiliate of Highwoods Properties for $6 million.

The vacant, 150,000-square-foot Class B building was formerly occupied by Wells Fargo & Co., which shifted operations at the building to nearby Innovation Park, according to the Charlotte Business Journal.

Ralph Kittrell, a principal with Exeter, says the building will receive a complete refacing. Other improvements include new lobbies, new mechanical systems and gutting and renovating the existing space.
