NEW YORK CITY-The city's Economic Development Corp. will be receiving bids today for the six-acre Seward Park site.
A host of big name developers are expected to submit bids for the largest undeveloped site in Manhattan below 96th St., according to the Wall Street Journal.
Among those that have expressed interest in the site include: Forest City Ratner, Related Cos., Taconic Investment Partners, and AvalonBay Communities. Last year the city approved a 1.65 million-square-foot mixed-use project for the site that would include market rate housing, affordable housing, retail and office space. The city is expected to choose a developer or developers for the site by this fall. See story in the Wall Street Journal.
