TAMPA-The Tampa City Council postponed a key vote on a developer's plan to build a 36-story apartment tower that would be located south of the Straz Center here.

The council decided to postpone the vote on Thursday as the project is facing some stiff opposition, including from officials of the nearby David A. Straz, Jr. Center for the Performing Arts, according to the Tampa Tribune.

Developer Intown/Framework Group is before the council seeking to build a 36-story apartment tower with 360 apartment units on the property that is now owned by the city. The development would also feature 10,000 square feet of retail space and a 400-car parking garage. See story in the Tampa Tribune.
