SAN FRANCISO—Summit 800, a new home community scheduled to open later this year in San Francisco, recently celebrated its groundbreaking with a feng shui blessing.
A joint venture between Comstock Homes and San Francisco-based Maracor Development, the project presents a rare opportunity for homebuyers in the San Francisco Bay Area to purchase a new residence, the devlopers say.
The property is located near Lake Merced and the San Francisco Golf Club in the city's Sunset District. The 7.7-acre parcel is approved for 182 homes in a mix of attached and detached plans.
Groundbreaking events held earlier this month included a feng shui blessing conducted by feng shui consultant Deborah Gee. The ceremony is expected to contribute to the future success of the community and its residents
Gee, who has more than 20 years of experience practicing and teaching the traditional Chinese discipline, led the blessing according to the ancient principles of restoring energy and encouraging positivity, prosperity and synergy.
“When you build on or alter the natural landscape, it's important to take steps to strengthen the energy force that has been disrupted in order to bring back peace and balance—and that's exactly what we've done at Summit 800,” stated Gee. The ceremony, which was performed in the presence of Comstock Homes and Maracor Development officials and community members, included symbolic offerings of food, ritual mantras, music and blessings, creating a collective energy and vision to work toward protection, smooth construction, good fortune and harmony within the community.
Summit 800 has taken special care to recognize the trees that will be removed to make way for the project. In accordance, Gee's feng shui team performed extra blessings on the trees as well as the future park and areas where new trees will soon be planted.
