LAUREL, MD-Greenberg Gibbons, the lead developer of the $130-million mixed-use Town Centre Laurel development here, announced that Harris Teeter, Sports Authority, Burlington Coat Factory and a Regal movie theater have signed leases at the project.

Gibbons, based in Owings Mills, reports that all four retailers have signed leases and that the firm is beginning preliminary work this month on turning the former Laurel Mall into an open air, mixed-use town center, according to the Washington Post. Partners in the Town Centre Laurel project are Somera Capital Management and AEW Capital Management.

Towne Centre Laurel calls for approximately 400,000 square feet of retail and 435 apartments. The first new shops are scheduled to open in April 2014, with the apartments slated to be completed by the spring of 2016. See story in the Washington Post.
