CHARLOTTE, NC-Woodfield Investments of Arlington, VA has plans to build a 250-unit apartment project in the NoDA neighborhood here.

The firm closed on a $4.5-million acquisition of more than three acres, the site of the Mercury NoDa apartment project that was successfully rezoned by Tyler Foster in 2012, according to the Charlotte Business Journal.

Woodfield plans to start the NoDa project and a 280-unit complex in SouthPark before the end of the year. This year the company expects to complete the 297-unit Woodfield Whitehall near the intersection of Arrowood Boulevard and Interstate 485 and the 280-unit Woodfield Silos in South End.
