HAZELTON, PA-American Eagle has plans to build a 1-million-square-foot distribution facility here in Luzerne County.

The company has selected a site here in this northeastern Pennsylvania township, according to the Pittsburgh Business Times. The facility is expected to cost approximately $160 million to complete.

American Eagle will be receiving some incentives in connection with the project. The company will receive a $400,000 Pennsylvania First Program grant and a $166,050 Guaranteed Free Training grant for workforce training. The project is also in a Keystone Opportunity Zone.

“Due to the growth of American Eagle Outfitters, we are delighted to launch this new distribution center that will bring additional jobs to the Pennsylvania community," American Eagle Outfitters CEO Robert Hanson stated Wednesday. "We are pleased that AEO will have a greater presence in the commonwealth given that our headquarters and Warrendale distribution center are located in western Pennsylvania. We look forward to working with the state of Pennsylvania to build this new facility." See story in the Pittsburgh Business Times.
