LOS ANGELES-NAIOP's I.con: The Industrial Conference is just around the corner. The event offers the most up-to-date trends and information presented by some of the most notable names in industrial real estate. I.con takes place on June 5 and 6 at the Omni Los Angeles.
To preview the conference, GlobeSt.com has reached out to some of the key speakers to discuss what they will present.
Today, we talk with Darla Longo, CBRE vice chairman/managing director, whose I.con topic is “Shark Tank: Developers Compete for Equity Capital.”
GlobeSt.com: It's a provocative title. What's the focus of the talk?
Darla Longo: The focus of the panel is to have top developers compete for equity capital from institutional investors (sharks) to see how and why development decisions are made in today's environment.
GlobeSt.com: What are three things you'll cover during the conversation?
D.L.: Developers will pitch real deals and provide the sharks with project economics, site and building design, and market fundamentals. The sharks will consider the projects and determine the best. We will encourage audience participation.
GlobeSt.com Who will be joining you?
D.L.: I have a great group of colleagues joining me on the panel, including three developers: Timur Tecimer (OMP), Tom McNearney (Transwestern), Andrew Mele (Trammell Crow) and the three sharks: Matthew Brodnik (Exeter), David Buck(USAA) and Dayton Conklin (Clarion Partners).
Earlier on GlobeSt.com, we previewed the e-commerce panel that will be held at I.con.
